Read Error Auto Reallocate
I scripted this; too - I initially had about 1700 packages installed, about 1500 with one or more missing files. Sense: Unrecovered read error - auto reallocate failed Looks like the drive has bad sectors and is unable to reallocate these (possibly because it's run out of spare sectors). The old fstab referred to partitions by volume, the new one by UUID, and fdisk/fsck by device. Auto Offline data collection on/off support.
I wouldn't touch these with a 10-foot pole... It proved easier to use a memory stick, also for keeping copies of grub.conf, fstab. Conveyance Self-test supported. How can I change this drives properly?

I made a script to verify packages then, for those that had missing files, try first the install DVD and then wget. Of course, since you're using a low-end desktop motherboard (DEAR GOD WHY?) you might spend a moment testing whether the drive controller or cable has failed.
