If you have the motherboard manual (you can usually find one online at the manufacturer's website) you can determine which sockets are for which controller. On rebooting there was an error shown within my RIAD array showing this. After you have backed up, maybe connect the drive directly and post its SMART attributes here. In here the drives show the reported error as well. click site UPDATE: So after I saw it was playing up I decided to finalise it by playing it until it crashed.
I learned the same way and with it being in Raid 5 at the time it took around 7 hours to check it for errors.. Physical Disks Error Occurred (0) Then just look at which one the cables are plugged into. If so then tomorrow I will reinstall my RAID drivers and do a fresh install of my OS and see how things go.
The computer, of course, couldn't boot but I was able to run the WD diagnostics from a bootable floppy for each separate HD.

If this is chipset raid for AMD you'll want to install AMD's RaidXpert and for Intel its RST (rapid storage technology) And as always, your important data should always have backup I did first verify that all connections, SATA and power supply to the HDDS were OK.
