This may be caused by missing or damaged files. The last resort was to completely uninstall and reinstall QuickBooks, which we wanted to avoid if at all possible. Then I renamed the file EntitlementDataStore.ecml to OLDEntitlementDataStore.ecml This is safer than deleting the file. Double-click Add or Remove Programs. 5.

The program then opened OK and I only had the confirm the license # and Product #.
